The Malaysia Timber Industry Board (MTIB) is a statutory body accredited to the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities. The main objective is to promote and coordinate the overall development of the timber industries.

The Malaysia Timber Certification Council (MTCC) is an independent organisation established to develop and operate a voluntary national timber certification scheme in Malaysia, in order to provide independent assessments of forest management practices as well as to meet demand for certified timber products.

The Malaysia Timber Council (MTC) was established in January 1992 to promote the development and growth of the Malaysia Timber Industry. MTC was formed on the initiative of the timber industry. It is incorporated as a company limited by guarantee under the Companies Act 1965. The Council is governed by a Board of Trustees, whose members are appointed by the Minister of Plantation Industries & Commodities.
